Scenic Art, Casting & Molding, Sculpting

Ornate Frame Modification

Built for La Traviata, The Santa Fe Opera

This frame needed to be cut down to fit the portrait without losing any of the ornate details in the corners. We first made a mold of the corner, cut the frame to size & reassembled it. Then using Apoxie sculpt I used the mold to press the details into the corner coming back with various sculpting tools to smooth and reshape to ensure it matched the corner that was removed perfectly.
